RTÉ have announced that 10 time All Ireland-winning Kilkenny legend Henry Shefflin will be joining their team of panelists on the Sunday Game and will also feature on RTÉ Radio 1's Sunday Sport throughout the GAA Championship season.

"I grew up watching the Sunday Game so it's a real thrill to be joining the renowned team of panellists this summer and I'm excited to be a part of RTÉ Sport's team covering the All Ireland Hurling Championship on both television and radio," said Shefflin.

Earlier in the week Shefflin revealed he was in discussions with both RTE and Sky as he plans for life after inter-county hurling.

"I'm in talks at the minute, just to see what the options are," he said. "It's only happened in the last week or so, because for a few weeks there, after retiring, I was off in my own bubble.

"Now people are starting to think about the championship, and I've been asked to do a bit of work. I know I'm going to miss it [playing], so I'd like to be involved in it."
