Henry Shefflin will end months of speculation about his future at a press conference on Wednesday.
After winning his third All-Ireland club title with Ballyhale Shamrocks on St Patrick's Day, the Kilkenny legend stated that he would make a decision regarding his intercounty future this week. True to his word, he has invited the media to attend a press conference at noon tomorrow at Langton's Hotel in Kilkenny city.
With ten All-Irelands, 13 Leinster titles, five national leagues and eleven All Stars, the three-times Hurler of the Year is regarded as one of the greatest hurlers of all time.
It seems unlikely that he would call a press conference to reveal that he intends to soldier on for an astonishing 17th intercounty campaign. If, as expected, King Henry announces his retirement tomorrow, the 36-year-old has certainly secured himself a place in the hearts of all GAA fans.
