Rebel Rose sets sights on camogie glory

Captaining Cork to victory in tomorrow's All-Ireland camogie final would crown a memorable year for Rebel Rose Anna Geary.

The 26-year old flew the Cork flag in last month's Rose of Tralee and now she is aiming to add All-Ireland number 21 to her medal collection.

She compared the Rose of Tralee favourably to the GAA when speaking to the Irish Independent: "Both are totally steeped in Irish heritage and are about representing and being proud about where you come from."

Cork finished with 10 points to spare over Wexford in their replayed semi-final but Geary insists that will count for nothing if they don't finish off the job against Kilkenny in Croke Park tomorrow.

"We can't be looking back at the semi-final, saying 'weren't we great that day?' because if you go in with that attitude you will get smashed and will go home with nothing except your pride left behind you.

"As much as it sounds a cliché you just have to go in and treat it as another game. We haven't been here since 2012, and haven't won since 2009.

"If you allow all of that to seep in it will weigh heavily on your shoulders."
