Cats welcome ticket-price reduction

September 11, 2014

Kilkenny have welcomed the GAA's decision to reduce the price of tickets for the All-Ireland hurling final replay.

For the eagerly-awaited rematch between the Cats and Tipp in Croke Park on Saturday, September 27th, ticket prices will be reduced from €80 to €50 (stands) and €40 to €25 (terraces), while children will be able to pruchase tickets for just €10.

"It is a sensible approach and fans deserve it," Kilkenny County Board chairman Ned Quinn is quoted in The Kilkenny People.

"Big matches can be great, but they can be expensive, especially for families. This is a good move by the GAA."

Huge demand for tickets is predicted and, given the drama of the drawn epic last Sunday coupled with the lower price of admission, the rematch will inevitably be a sell-out.
