There was another tense finish as Kilkenny reclaimed the national Tidy Towns title with a narrow one-point win yesterday.

The Marble City reigned supreme as Ireland's Tidiest Large Urban Area and also scooped the overall Tidiest Town award. It's the first time since 1985 that they have received the overall award.

There has been no shortage of close shaves on Noreside in recent days; hot on the heels of Sunday's thrilling All-Ireland SHC final draw with Tipperary, Kilkenny defeated Clonegal in Carlow by a single point to claim the coveted prize.

There were calls afterwards for Hawk-Eye to be introduced.
