Brian Cody says Kilkenny's spirit shone through in their All-Ireland semi-final defeat of Limerick.
The Cats had to dig deep to progress to next month's All-Ireland final and their legendary manager was impressed by their resilience in the face of a Treaty County onslaught:
"It was as hard as you could get," he is quoted in The Kilkenny People. "I thought Limerick played outstanding. They threw everything at us and we were tested in every way.
"I suppose what shone through again was out absolute spirit to the end. We competed manfully throughout the game. I thought our genuineness was superb, as was Limerick's because they kept going.
"The hunger of the team didn't surprise me because that's what you do. If you start thinking about something you won before, what good is that to you now?"
