Low-key build-up very much to Bennis' liking

Former Limerick hurling manager Richie Bennis
Former Limerick manager Richie Bennis is glad to see that lessons have been learned down Shannonside and no one is losing the run of themselves ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Kilkenny.

According to Bennis, the county lost the run of itself in the build-up to last year's semi-final against Clare but he senses a different approach this year.

"Ah it was a disaster in Limerick last year," Bennis told the Irish Daily Star.

"The local radio went mad and every time you tuned into the local radio, it was all about Limerick and they had a song made out and actually they made reference to the final without being in it.

"It's very low-key this year, the public have learned and I think the local radio has learned."

Bennis - who guided the Treaty County to their last All-Ireland final appearance in 2007 - added: "We're going up with the right attitude and I think the supporters have the right attitude, they're up there more in hope."
