JJ Delaney says the pressing of Kilkenny's forwards makes it a pleasure to play behind them.

The Kilkenny defence had a good day at the office in Sunday's Leinster SFC final, conceding just 1-5 from play and 1-9 in total.

2003 Hurler of the Year Delaney, who collected his tenth provincial medal last weekend, deflects the credit for this to the hard-working Black & Amber attack:

"The forwards made our job easier in the backs the way they hassled and put pressure on the Dublin backs," the Fenians clubman says in The Kilkenny People.

"They kept Dublin under pressure all the time, forcing them to rush their clearances, to mis-hit them and to put them in bad areas.

"A back faces nothing worse than an opponent running onto a well-placed ball where the forward has all the advantages.

"The way our forwards defend doesn't make it easy for opposing backs to place clearances."
