Kilkenny hurler Eoin Larkin and Tyrone footballer Sean Cavanagh were honoured with Texaco Sports Star awards last night. Larkin spoke of his delight at following in the footsteps of fellow Cats Eddie Keher, DJ Carey and Henry Shefflin in receiving the prestigious accolade. "I'm absolutely delighted, particularly when I look back on the lads from Kilkenny that are after getting the same award over the years," he said. "You have Eddie Keher, DJ Carey and Henry Shefflin, it's a privilege to get the same award as those guys." Larkin is currently concentrating on his football commitments with James Stephens who play St. Ultan's of Meath in the Leinster club intermediate semi-final on Sunday. "It's been a long year but it's not over yet and hopefully we'll get past St. Ultan's at the weekend," he added. Tweet
