Brian Cody celebrates with goal scorer Eoin Larkin after Kilkenny had beaten Waterford in the All-Ireland SHC final at Croke Park
Brian Cody is expected to be reappointed Kilkenny hurling manager for an 11th term on Monday week, November 17.
The James Stephens clubman, who led the Cats to an historic three-in-a-row of All-Ireland successes in September, said yesterday that has not yet made up his mind about his future, but Kilkenny chairman Paul Kinsella is confident that he will remain at the helm for at least another 12 months.
Kinsella said: "The decision is entirely up to Brian. Let's face it, after what Brian has done for Kilkenny hurling, we certainly won't be sacking him.
"Brian hasn't yet spoken to me, or another of the other board members, about his plans for next year. But we're working on the presumption that he will be staying on with the team.
"I'm sure that if Brian had bad news for us, he would have told us about it long before now.
"The next meeting of the county board will take place on Monday week and Brian has told us that he will let us know on next Friday what decision he has taken about his future."
