Carey brushes aside Dublin rumours

November 06, 2008
DJ Carey has dismissed the notion that he is to become Dublin's next senior hurling manager. The Kilkenny legend has stated that he has no interest in management, and suggested that the rumours put out about him becoming the Metropolitans next hurling boss may have been someone looking to take the pressure off themselves. "I haven't been asked and I don't want to be asked because I have no interest in management," said Carey. Anybody that would know me would know I have no interest in management. "The story was wrote for the sake of it. I have no interest in any management job," he added. I have a hectic enough lifestyle as it is. I have a couple of businesses and I am no different to anyone else at the moment. "Someone put out a rumour - I don't know who it was. It was maybe just someone taking pressure off themselves putting it out." In the latest twist to find Tommy McNaughton's successor, it has emerged that former Meath hurling and football manager Sean Boylan has been approached over the position.
