Clubs prepare for shot at provincial glory

October 31, 2008
Ballyhale Shamrocks are not the only Kilkenny side featuring in the club championship this weekend as three other teams will also make their bow in this year's campaign. Intermediate champions Erins Own face a tough test against Carlow senior champions Naomh Brid in the curtainraiser to the senior clash at Nowlan Park. Carlow have always produced decent club teams in the senior and the latest champions have some excellent players in their ranks. On Saturday, junior champions Tullogher/Rosbercon head for O'Toole Park, Dublin where they will face Trinity Gaels and both sides will know little or nothing about one another. Also on this weekend is the meeting of Kilkenny senior football champions James Stephens and Wicklow side Carnew in the Leinster club IFC.
