Showcase weekend of Kilkenny club hurling

Kilkenny St Canices Credit Union Senior Hurling Final Ballyhale Shamrocks v James Stephens Nowlan Park 3pm Sunday 26th October Kilkenny Citrëon Centre Minor A Hurling Championship Final Dicksboro v Erin's Own Nowlan Park 1pm Sunday 26th October The highlight of the Kilkenny Club hurling year takes place this weekend when defending champions Ballyhale Shamrocks meet James Stephens in the St. Canice's Credit Union county senior hurling championship final at Nowlan Park at 3pm on Sunday. Between them the two teams have won the last four Kilkenny senior titles and both have won club All Irelands in the last four years also. The game will feature four 2008 All Stars ( Henry Shefflin and Cha Fitzpatrick for the Shamrocks and Jackie Tyrrell and Eoin Larkin for James Stephens) . Eoin Larkin is also the player of the year. Both sides feature a considerable array of supporting stars. A fascinating game is in prospect. This Kilkenny Citrëon centre minor final between Erin's Own of Castlecomer and Dicksboro will take place at 1pm in Nowlan Park. While the city side will start favourites 'Comer are on a high following their Intermediate success and supporters should come early to watch this curtainraiser. This weekend also features the JJ Kavanagh and Sons county junior hurling final between Tullogher Rosbercon and Lisdowney in Nowlan Park at 3pm on Saturday. The southern champions will hope to put recent previous final appearances behind them while Lisdowney were impressive in their northern final win. Admission by ticket only.
