Waterford Institute Director Professor Kieran R. Byrne has admitted that while all belonging to WIT are proud that 18 past pupils will feature in Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final, he admits the college is split down the middle when it comes to showing their true colours! "Our allegiances are split this weekend and we wish both sides the very best said Professor Byrne. "Several were instrumental in helping us win the Fitzgibbon Cup on eight occasions, three in the past six years. "WE would hope that their great hurling feats to date will spur more involved in sport and to believe that we training, dedication and commitment comes great rewards. "Waterford Institute of Technology has always been a hurling hotbed. But this year we are delighted that a record 18 men who played with WIT Fitzgibbon Cup sides feature on the Waterford and Kilkenny panels." Tweet
