Galway and Kilkenny stay the same

August 22, 2008
Galway and Kilkenny have both kept the faith in the sides that won their respective provincial deciders ahead of this Saturday's All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling semi-final against each other. Galway start with eight of the team from last year's All-Ireland winning side against the Black Cats at the Semple Stadium in Thurles. Senior star Joe Canning starts at full-forward and will no doubt be the Leinster Champions' defence top priority this weekend. Kilkenny have made just one positional switch from the side that defeated Offaly in their last outing, with Neal Prendergast and Lester Ryan trading their half-back positions. Both TJ Reid and Richie Hogan boast the most senior experience in the side and will be looked to to lead the line if they are to dethrone the defending All-Ireland Champions. Galway (U21HC v Kilkenny): C McGrath; P Murphy, K Joyce, E O'Shea; N Prendergast, P Hogan, L Ryan; J Dowling, N Walsh; C Fennelley, N Cleere, TJ Reid; M Ruth, J Mulhall, R Hogan. Kilkenny (U21HC v Galway): J Skehill; M McMahon; C O'Donovan, P Callanan; A Keary, K Kilkenny, A Leech; E Forde, A Harte; S Glynn, K Keehan, J Greene, C Kavanagh, J Canning, E Concannon.
