Fr O’Neills pair Mark O’Keeffe and Billy Dunne have had their one-match bans upheld by the CHC and will miss Saturday’s All-Ireland Club IHC final against Tullaroan.

Both men were sent off during their side's four-point semi-final victory over Tooreen of Mayo on January 4th, O’Keeffe for ‘behaving in any way which is dangerous to an opponent’ and Dunne for ‘striking or attempting to strike with a hurley with minimal force’.

They requested hearings in front of the Central Hearings Committee. These hearing took place in the capital last night, where video evidence was produced in an attempt to back up the club's assertion that the players' transgressions were worthy of yellow cards rather than red ones. However, both infractions were found to be proven, with a one-match ban imposed in each case.

In a last-ditch effort to avoid missing out on Saturday’s massive encounter against the Kilkenny men at Croke Park, O’Keeffe and Dunne still have the option of taking their case to the Central Appeals Committee. But as things stand, the Imokilly duo look set to miss out on one of the biggest games of their lives.
