Michael Fennelly could bring his illustrious hurling career to an end following Sunday week’s All-Ireland club SHC final.

The Kilkenny and Ballyhale Shamrocks legend – who doubles up as Offaly manager - will tog out for the reigning champions against Borris-Ileigh in the Tommy Moore Cup decider at Croke Park on January 19th. He is seeking a fifth club All-Ireland medal to go with the eight he annexed with the Cats and suggested in The Irish Independent that it could be his last appearance:

“Look, it’s working okay. Offaly is going okay, we are going okay with the club so, thankfully, it is coming to an end with the club, to be honest.

“The last two weeks now … that possibly might be it now for me, but we’ll see. We’ll weigh it up.”
