Death of two-time Kilkenny All-Ireland winner Sean Clohessy

The death has occurred of Sean Clohessy who won All-Ireland SHC medals with Kilkenny in 1957 and '63.
The legendary Tullaroan midfielder followed in his father Pat's footsteps when he made his senior debut for the Cats in 1953. Both of his All-Ireland wins came at the expense of Waterford, while he also claimed five Leinster SHC medals, one National League medal and one Railway Cup medal in a glittering career.
Sean, who lived in Midleton, Co. Cork where he was married with five children, won a Kilkenny SHC medal in 1958 when Tullaroan defeated Bennettsbridge by 1-12 to 3-2 in the final. He captained his county to a Leinster SHC success the following year.

Reposing in T. Wallis and Sons Funeral Home, Riverside Way, Midleton. Co. Cork on Monday, 7th October, 2019 from 5pm followed by removal at 7pm to The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Midleton. Co. Cork. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, 8th October, 2019 at 12.30pm in The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Midleton. Co. Cork. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family Flowers only. Donations if desired to Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
