Kilkenny and All-Ireland club SH champions Ballyhale Shamrocks are sweating over the fitness of TJ Reid ahead of their county quarterfinal.

Shamrocks have had a poor year since winning the Al-Ireland club title last March, as they have stuttered their way through to the quarterfinals.

They face Clara in the last eight clash on Saturday week and at the moment, Reid is a major doubt for the match at Nowlan Park.

Last weekend, Reid was forced off after injuring his ankle during the first round win over St Patrick’s (Ballyragget).

Both Reid and former Kilkenny captain Michael Fennelly are struggling to regain fitness for the game with the latter yet to feature this year, although he was togged out for last weekend’s game.
