Tommy Walsh was back in the winners' enclosure last night when he scooped the Best Newcomer award at the 2018 IMRO Radio Awards.
The Kilkenny legend is one of the most decorated hurlers of all-time with nine All-Ireland medals and nine All Stars to his name, but will have to make space on his mantelpiece for another accolade after being honoured for his brilliant punditry and commentary on Newstalk Radio.
Fittingly, the awards ceremony took place on Tommy's doorstep in Kilkenny and was attended by all the major players in the world of radio.
