Limerick minor hurling boss Antoin Power has made two changes to his side for this afternoon's All-Ireland quarter-final third round game against Kilkenny in Thurles.

Team captain Kyran O'Donnell is named at left half-forward in what will be his first of the championship after recovering from injury, while Ahane's Andrew Shanahan also comes in at left corner-forward for his first start of the campaign.

Colin Coughlan and Bryan Nix both drop to the bench from the team's loss to Galway.

If Kilkenny win they advance to an All-Ireland semi-final meeting with Tipperary, while a win for Limerick would see them facing Dublin in the last four as a provincial final pairings cannot be repeated in the semis.

Throw-in today is at 3.00pm.

Limerick (All-Ireland MHC v Kilkenny): Bryan Heavey; Padraig Harnett, Ben Herlihy, Michael Keane; Eoin O Mahony, Emmet McEvoy, Jack Nicholas; Patrick Kirby, Barry O Connor; Micheal Martin, Cormac Ryan, Kyran O'Donnell; Cathal O Neill, Bob Purcell, Andrew Shanahan

Subs: James Mason, Colin Coughlan, Cian Casey, Bryan Nix, Diarmuid Hegarty, Patrick Byrne, Jimmy Quilty, Cian Enright, Frank Herr
