Kilkenny manager Brian Cody is pleased that they are still in the NHL as it gives them more competitive games ahead of the Leinster SHC.

On Sunday, Kilkenny head for O'Connor Park, Tullamore where they will take on Offaly in the NHL quarterfinal, and if as expected, they come through this clash, they will face either Galway or Wexford in the semi-final.

That would be the ideal test for the Cats as they continue their preparations for the championship and Cody told the Kilkenny People that progress is being made.

"It is the same kind of set up, playing week after week, so it is like playing a league and another league after it," stated Cody. "We are working, we are preparing for it.

"What is coming down the line is going to be very, very serious. For that reason we are absolutely delighted to be playing again next Sunday and the Sunday after that too if we can make it happen."

Kilkenny begin their provincial campaign with a clash against Dublin in Parnell Park on Sunday, May 13th.
