Rattler2010County: KildarePosts: 3720175 Was just thinking to myself about the future of Kildare football. With the youth of Alan Smith, Gary White, David Whyte, Keith Cribben, Peter Kelly, Eoghan O' Flathery, then the likes of Daryll Flynn, Eamonn Callaghan, James Kavanagh, Brian Flanagan, Hugh McGrillen etc all still many years ahead of them, Conway to come back also, I cant help but think that we have defintely got a VERY GOOD opportunity ahead of ourselves to win quiet a few Leinsters at least!! Maybe under Geezers powers I dont know but we do have the players. Lets hope we get over Monaghan tomorrow first though! But any opinions Im sure a lot of people will agree with this?? Rattler, I agree, there are also lads like Eoin Doyle, Paul Cribben, Fionn Dowling, Tom Mollock, Sean Hurley and john Comerford of the last 2 years minor team another player worth mentioning is Declan Brennan who will probably back with Kildare next year after completing his exams

Some good minors alright but they wont be ready for the next two maybe four years years in my opinion!! Them boys also have a lot ahead of them to choose from first before talking about them as senior footballers, college, drink, girls all could and maybe will hamper quiet a few of our good minors as with every other county which is fair enough too I suppose. These boys have proved they have quality, its about c ommitment and wanting to be a footballer now. i.e NO DRINKING. well maybe not as much as they might like to anyways. I was trying to concentrate on what young talent we have in our senior team at the minute at our disposal and that alone is pretty impressive. Our present senior team is exactly the right blend of youth and experience. Leinster next yr maybe.

I agree we do have a very young squad now with more coming through but we will be losing the irreplaceable Dermot and Johnny Doyle. I also think that most tteams have quite a young age profile at the minuteteams have quite a lo

Plenty of good footballers. But every team needs a great player. Bernard Brogan, Sean Cavanagh, Denis Glennon, that sort of exceptional talent. Johnny was 25 by the time he became a really great player in my view so the young guys need time. Moolick looks like a mighty fielder, Fionn Dowling is also a great prospect, stylish, quick and accurate. Should Paul Cribben come home from Australia the team he'll be a big star.
