Celbridge goalkeeper Niall Lanigan admitted that it was hard to put into words how he felt following their Leinster club IHC final defeat.
The Kildare champions looked set to be crowned provincial winners for the first time in their history as they had a healthy lead as the game entered its final ten minutes.
However, three late goals by Kilkenny outfit Carrickshock saw them clinch the title late on, much to the heartbreak of Lanigan and his team mates.
"It's so hard to put any words on it to be honest," Lanigan told the Leinster Leader. "So close and yet so far; third time to lose a final; simply gutted."
The veteran 'keeper also hinted that he may be willing to continue playing despite their latest setback.
"I'm not getting any younger, it's hard work, we put in a great shift this year with Seamus (Murphy) and the lads; we battled together as a group; all motivating one another; look Christmas is just around the corner; I have another birthday coming up … sure maybe someone will buy me a new hurley for a present."
