Rooney quietly confident

Laois have came through their side of the draw rather quietly.

Laois manager Mark Rooney is confident that if his side produce a performance they can win the Leinster MFC final.

On Sunday, Rooney takes his charges to Croke Park where they will take on a highly fancied and red hot favourites Kildare in the provincial decider.

Much has been said about the quality of the Kildare team as they have beaten the likes of Westmeath and Meath to reach this year's decider.

Laois have came through their side of the draw rather quietly, defeating Offaly in the semi-final last week.

Rooney told the Leinster Express that the win over their neighbours has given them a huge boost ahead of this weekend's clash.

"On our day, we are as good as any other team, the win over Offaly will give us a boost," stated Rooney. "We've already played Kildare in the league and we know their form, we will certainly be giving it our all."

When the sides met in the league, it was Laois that came out on top, but Rooney will know that nothing can be taken from that result.
