Kildare skipper Eoin Doyle returned from a long injury layoff in a SF challenge against Laois in Monasterevan yesterday.

Doyle came on for the last 10 minutes in what was his first appearance since he was involved with Ireland in the International Rules series last November. He had been sidelined with a groin injury, but has now put himself in line to feature in the Lilywhites' Leinster SFC opener against Wexford on May 21.

The game in Monasterevan, which marked the official opening of the club's new pitch, ended in a 0-15 to 1-12 draw, with Neil Flynn helping himself to five second half points for the home side.
