Athy eager to push on

November 20, 2015

Athy under-21 manager Joe Kelly has stressed that his side are determined to go all the way in the championship.

The win over Clane earned Athy a place in the final and even though they had 12 points to spare over their opponents in the semi-final, it was far from the perfect performance.

However, Kelly stressed to the Kildare Nationalist that it was all about winning at this time of the year.

"It's the last throw of the dice (at under-21) and they're determined to win one more game in this championship, so please god that will be the final," said Kelly.

Balyna are the opposition in the final and Athy will be strong favourites to take the title, but Kelly is taking nothing for granted.

"It doesn't bother us. A final takes on a life on its own. Were in the final now and we are determined to lift that cup."
