Gray delighted to get through

November 04, 2015

Castledermot manager Tony Gray admits that there was a feeling of relief and delight as they came through their Leinster club IFC quarterfinal.

The Kildare champions saw off the challenge of Offaly side Ballycumber after extra time to book their place in the semi-final where they will face Meath's Ratoath.

Castledermot got off to a slow start and were forced to battle their way back into the match in both halves and Gray admitted to the Leinster Leader it was not the ideal way to begin.

"We're delighted now, because we didn't make the best start to the game," said Gray. "We let ourselves get three and four points behind."

Gray was not impressed by his side's start to the second half either as they conceded three points in the space of two minutes.

"When we came out we made a disastrous start. They kicked three points without reply."
