St Laurence's manager Gavin Wynne is looking forward to pitting his side against one of the championship favourites Athy.

The sides meet at St Conleth's Park on Saturday evening and Wynne knows that his charges will have to be at their best.

"Athy are one of the championship favourites and deservedly so. They won a title back in 2011 and have been in numerous minor finals. They are maturing now and I'm sure they are going to be hard handled.

He added: We'll have our work cut out but we'll do our best to put in a serious performance. We'll have to put in a performance together that we haven't done all year to beat them. I've told the boys that but we're looking forward to it."
