The Division 4 final was contested between Raheens and Carbury in Hawkfield on a lovely evening for football. Raheens started strongly and were rewarded with a lovely point by Sally Kielty but better was to come as her sister Emma found the net with a lovely shot. Carbury fought back with points from Nicole Kenny and Orlaith Sullivan and began to get a foothold in the game. However, Raheens rallied and a long ball in from Sarah Jennings found Ciana O'Brien who blasted home for a second goal. Further points from Jenny Cullen and Emma Kielty gave Raheens a commanding position but Carbury never gave up. Jill Brierty was impressive in driving Carbury forward and inspired her team to score a further 3 points from Georgia Patel, Ciara mcDonnell and Orlaith Sullivan but on the stroke of half time Sally Kielty popped up with a third goal for Raheens and give them a 7 point lead at the break.

Carbury started the second half with a flourish and were unlucky when a rasping shot hit the crossbar but persistent pressure ended up with a penalty kick being awarded. The penalty was saved by the excellent Meghan Campbell and was the turning point in the game. From here Raheens pushed on and scored points from Rebecca Percival, Emma Kielty, Ciana O'Brien, Sophie Roker and a fine goal from Aoife Morrisson. To their credit, Carbury kept fighting til the end and it wont be long before they win a county title. It's 15 years since Raheens won an u16 title and it was a great performance by the whole squad.
