Tributes planned for Croker

June 28, 2015

Croke Park will host both games

Separate tributes will be held at today's Leinster SFC semi-finals in Croke Park as a mark of respect to recently deceased members of the GAA community.

A moment's silence will be observed for Lorna Carty - mother of Meath football panellist Simon - who was among the 38 victims of the Tunisian terrorist attack on Friday, before the Royal County's meeting with Westmeath.

Tipperary hurling legend Jimmy Doyle, who died suddenly last Monday, is also expected to be remembered.

Meanwhile, Dublin supporters are planning a tribute to the memory of brothers Alan and Steve Harris and the six Irish students who lost their lives in Berkeley last week.

Alan and Steve Harris, who were avid Dublin fans, died earlier this month following a sewer accident at a housing estate in Portmarnock.

Ballyboden St. Enda's clubman Eoghan Culligan, along with Niccolai Schuster, Ashley Donohue, Olivia Burke, Eimear Walsh and Lorcan Miller, were killed after the collapse of a balcony in an apartment block in California.

As a mark of respect to the victims of both tragedies, the 'Hill 16' Army' supporters' group is calling for a one-minute round of applause during the 16th minute of Dublin's clash with Kildare.
