Senior Football

In a tense local derby, 80 minutes of football could not separate Kildangan and Round Towers in the Division 4 South semi-final in St. Brigid's Park, Kildare Town on Monday, 22nd June. Stephen Quigley opened the scoring with a point from the throw-in, which the home side immediately cancelled out. This scoring pattern continued until the break, where both sides had six points apiece.

Quigley scored a point on the resumption, thanks to a pass from Robert Hanley. A Colin Farrell goal for Towers five minutes in gave the home side a bit of momentum, which was followed by two points. Kildangan managed to come back into it, and a free in the last minute of normal time scored by Ryan Moran saw the game level.

Stephen Quigley sent over the first score of extra time, and once again, Towers countered. Three points from Kildare Town men saw the score at 1-15 to 0-15 at the close of the first half. Robert Hanley reduced the deficit to two when the game restarted, followed by two from Quigley. Towers scored another, and it looked like it could have been over here. Kildangan were awarded a free 35 metres out, and Hanley kept his composure to level the game, the final score saw Towers on 1-16 to Kildangan 0-19.

The replay took place on Monday, 29th June in More O'Ferrall Park, Kildangan. See our website for further details on both games.

Abbey Rangers

The under 14 team are through to the Division 5 final after a very competitive win over Grangenolvin in Ballykelly on Sunday, 21st June. Rangers took a slender lead into the break and maintained this until the end, despite playing against the wind in the second half. Abbey Rangers face Milltown in the final on Wednesday, 1st July in Hawkfield. Please come along and support the team.

Juvenile Football

The Kildangan under 9 and under 11 teams both travelled to Ellistown last week.

In the under 9 game on Tuesday, Kildangan pegged back the home side in the second half, but were unlucky, as Ellistown managed to pull away in the end. The team take a trip to Ballymore Eustace in round four this evening. Throw-in is at 7.00pm.

The under 11s built up a healthy lead in the first half of Thursday's fixture. Ellistown came back before the break, and this set up a very competitive second half by both teams, but it was to be Ellistown's day in the end. Kildangan host Suncroft on Thursday, with a 7.00pm throw-in.
