Kildare manager Brian Lawlor is eager for his side to bounce back against Mayo in the Christy Ring Cup on Saturday.

A defeat to London last weekend sees the Lilywhites in the Losers' group where they will face the Connacht side in Mayo.

Lawlor stressed to the Kildare Nationalist that Mayo will be no pushover, but he added that he was seeking a response to the defeat last weekend.

"Mayo are no pushover, they knocked Wicklow out of this competition last year and only lost to Derry by two points in the previous round and they have home advantage. It's going to be a huge ask and we have to plan without Paul Divilly (suspended), it's not going to be easy.

"We won our first round game last year so it's slightly different but we did take a knock against Kerry here, but we did regroup and found our form from the quarterfinal on."
