Kildare under-21 manager Brian Murphy is adamant that anyone who knocks an inter-county footballer has no idea of the commitment the players give.

Murphy was disappointed to see his charges lose out to Dublin in the Leinster final, but he admitted to the Leinster Leader that he was even more disappointed with the some of the flack that his players received from some of the supporters.

"If some of those who like to knock players could only see the time and effort those lads put into preparation then they would have a different outlook totally," said Murphy.

Murphy's future as under-21 manager will be discussed by the county board later in the year.
