Condolences

We extend our Sincere Condolences to the family of Stephen Fitzgerald. Stephen was a lifelong Member of Castlemitchell GFC and represented the club proudly as a player and a referee. Our thoughts are with Frances, Breda, Tomás and all the Fitzgerald family at the time.

Fantasy Cheltenham

A big thank you to all who supported our Fantasy Cheltenham Fundraiser this year. The club winner was Ruth Hogan who finished with 293 points which placed her in a commendable 11th overall. Well done everyone.

Last Man Standing
After seven weeks we are now down to the last 10 people in  the Last man Standing competition .Nearly all the top teams have been picked so it is getting harder to pick a winning team to be the winner of €500. We  started off with 218 entrants and after the big upset where we lost 135 people on week 2 it has taken the next 5 weeks to get to the last 10. Best of luck to the remaining people in the competition.

Membership
Membership is now due. This is an important income in the club as it covers registration and insurance. Adult €30, Family €40, Students €15 or you can join Friends of Castlemitchell for just €5 a month which entitles you to membership and helps with the development in the club such as the new training hall which we hope to begin construction shortly. All members will be entered into a free draw at the end of the month. Direct debit forms are available on our website. Membership can be paid to our club registrar Mick Brazil or any committee member.

St Patrick's Day Parade
Congratulations to all in the club, young and not so young, men, women and especially the children, who represented the club with such pride in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Athy. The excellent float was a credit to all involved and showed Castlemitchell GFC in its true light - a club with sporting, social and family attributes. This years theme was "Recycling and the Environment" . Once again it was a joy to see the green and white being paraded through the streets of Athy. A big thanks to Declan and Harris Transport for providing the transport to showcase the club and to all involved in preparing and decorating the float . To top off the day we were jointly awarded 'Best Sporting Float'.
Our entry this year was dedicated to the memory and celebration of the life of one of our great clubmen Stephen Fitzgerald RIP who sadly passed away. It was fitting that he received a minutes round of applause at the viewing stand. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hAnam dílis.
