Clane GAA Club Notes

Clane GAA will be holding an important Golf Classic fundraiser in Millicent golf club on Friday 24th April. Team of 4 costs €200 and that includes a goody bag and a meal in golf clubhouse after your golf!  We have Tee-Box sponsorship available for €50 and 1/2 Tee-Box  for €25. Later on that night there will be a presentation night in the club house which will also include a big raffle with food and music and craic!

 

Do you have any old mobile phones left lying around at home? The club is collecting all mobile phones that are not in use - why not bring them down to the club when you are training next?

 

There is also a Sports Prediction sheet for 2015 available to get in the club - entry fee is only €10 and many cash prizes are guaranteed - the 1st event is the US Masters and all sheets have to be back by that point - ensure you don't miss out.

 

The Senior footballers commence their league campaign tomorrow with an away fixture to Monasterevin at 2:30pm. The minor footballers continued their winning ways beating Round Towers comfortably - they now top their group and will play Raheerns at home on Sunday with a 11:45 throw-in. The 2nd Minor team have a bye this weekend. Our Feile footballers will play Newtown Gaels in the shield quarter final on Sunday @ 10.30 in Clane whilst the 16 footballers drew last Saturday and are also at home this Sat to Alymer Gaels

 

Our Senior hurlers are competing in the Leinster Hurling Comp and their last game is away to Cloneen from Kilkenny tomorrow. The Minor hurlers went down to a strong Celbridge team last Sunday whilst the Feile team beat Naas in the opening round of the Feile.

 

Our U17 Ladies Footballers under the guidance of John Cribbin continued their winning ways in Div1 beating Leixlip by 6 points in a cracking game. Our Minor camogs also had a brilliant resulting drawing away to St Brigid's of Dublin last weekend.

 

Our Ladies Football and Camogie sections are also training away where their fixtures will be commencing shortly - keep an eye out for details.

Our Bingo is continuing to grow every Tuesday night at 8:30pm in the hall - many top cash prizes each week including a chance to win the Jackpot that is over €2,200 - all welcome to participate. If anyone would like to help out with the Bingo, please contact Dave Cahill and you will be more than welcome

The club Lotto is now at €8,850 this coming Saturday 21st March  - tickets can be bought in the bar after 4pm or through the usual sellers. Tickets cost €2 or 3 for €5. Results from 14th March: Nos 10, 12, 16, 17. No Winner. €25 winners: Peter O'Neill, Liam Percival, Lisa Callan and John Blake.

Our Games Development committee are currently working with Croke Park and their company to get our new website up and running. It is hoped that the website will contain all the current news, fixtures, results, pitch timetables, training programmes etc all available at the click of a mouse.

Our Clubhouse Café seems to be going down a treat with the locals at the minute - the girls are serving teas, coffees and scones from 8:45am to 4pm. There is a kiddies corner with safety play mats so that the little ones can also enjoy the experience. All welcome! The Leinster Leader have approached us and are doing a write-up on the café - so it is great to get a bit of exposure

Kildare GAA are hosting an Adult Referee Training Course - if you would like to become a ref, contact Paddy Moore and he will add you onto the list.
