Fun Run-Fastest Club

January 29, 2015

Kildare  footballing legends are going head to head in a race to find the fastest club in the county and raise funds for the county teams' training funds.

Johnny Doyle and Dermot Earley will lead  teams from Allenwood and Sarsfields into battle in  the Curragh Challenge on Sunday 8 February, which sees clubs from across the county compete to win a set of O'Neills jerseys for the fastest club in Kildare.
"I'm delighted to be taking part in the Curragh Challenge and hope that our Allenwood team will be the first past the post on the racecourse," said Doyle, an All-Star winner in 2010.

Teams made up of ten club members who played club championship football in 2014  are invited to register for the race and the times of the fastest seven runners in the 5 mile contest  will count towards the finishing positions.  The quickest team will win a set of O'Neills jerseys for their club.

Sarsfields star Dermot Earley is looking forward to taking part in the event and the rivalry it will ignite ahead of the season, players from across the county sporting their club colours on the Curragh..

Kildare's fitness coach Brian McGrogan will lead a warmup before the race starts. Entry fees are €150 per team of ten and additional runners can enter the 5km fun run for €20 or €5 for juvenile members.
