Tipperary captain David Young raises the All Ireland IHC Cup at Nowlan Park

Tipperary All-Ireland winner David Young will switch his county allegiance to Kildare for 2015.

The Toomevara clubman scored a point as a substitute in the Premier County's 2010 All-Ireland final success over Kilkenny and captained the county to All-Ireland intermediate glory in 2013.

The Irish Daily Star reports that he is eligible to play for the Lilywhites as he lives locally but will continue to play his club hurling in his native county.

He will line out alongside fellow county man Dinny Stapleton from Sean Treacy's in the Kildare jersey.

In other Kildare hurling news, Wexford legend Martin Storey will manage Eire Og Corra Choill this year.
