An ongoing knee injury has forced Kildare's Brian Flanagan to retire from inter-county football.
The Johnstownbridge clubman announced the news on twitter last night. Known for his ability to win 'dirty ball' around midfield, the 29-year-old made his senior debut against Derry in the 2007 Allianz League and went on to play in the Lilywhites' controversial All-Ireland semi-final loss to Down three years later.
The financial advisor played in both defence and attack.
Sad to say that's it with @KildareGAA but so be it. Great memories, great friends. Will do all I can to help my club @JTBGAA in other ways
