Sarsfields 3-8   Leixlip 1-5

In the incessant rain Sarsfields started this game on the back foot allowing Leixlip to amass 3 points before shaking themselves down and realising there was no win or lose to this game…it had to be a win. Fifteen minutes in to the first half Laura Scales set Sarsfields on their winning way with a well-taken point from play. Leixlip came back at the Sash with another point but with tactical switches made by the coaches taking affect Sarsfields Emily Aulsberry pointed a free. Closing down the Leixlip kick outs the Sash girls worked hard and were soon rewarded as Molly Price played in Anna Lawless for a fine solo effort to net the Sash's first goal. Again, Leixlip piled on the pressure but with the in form Karla O'Reilly in goals their first half efforts proved futile, the usual Sash suspects of Orlaith Taylor, Brooke Dunne, Ciara Morris and Gemma Hartnett worked the ball out of defence so that Emily Aulsberry and Orlagh Judge could ensure that the Sarsfields girls held the lead 2-3 to Leixlip's 0-4 at half-time.

Leixlip were first back on the pitch for the second half buoyed up to take a spot in the finals.

The Sarsfields girls knew the second half would be as contentious as the previous half; the game went end to end without either team being able to capitalize on their scoring chances. With the ball slithering and the players sliding all over the pitch Melissa O' Brien set Shauna Kendrick up for a point, the Sarsfields back six defended tirelessly and when the ball was put forward Molly Price made a determined dash through the Leixlip backs to point the ball, Leixlip were not giving up on this game and replied with a goal. The Sash girls closed down their half of the pitch with Orlaith Taylor, Emma Lyons, Shauna Kendrick, Gemma Hartnett, Brooke Dunne working ferociously being well supported by Anna Lawlessand Ciara Morris, soon had the home team mounting up the scores. A couple of frees let Leixlip in for their last point of the game and saw the Sash finishing out the game with only 14 players.
