Moorefield midfielder Cian O'Connor admits that seeing his family on the pitch after the county final win over Sarsfields meant the world to him.

O'Connor and his brother Eanna are Kerry natives playing their first year with Moorefield and what a way for that year to end.

Their father Jack guided Kerry to All-Ireland senior glory in the past, while this year, he was manager of the victorious Kerry minor side.

However, Cian admitted to the Kildare Nationalist that seeing his mother Bridie on the St Conleth's Park pitch at the final whistle meant the world to him.

"This was the first time I've seen my mother in about eleven weeks," said O'Connor. "I'm happy a final has brought them up. Maybe we can go home now for a day or two during the week to relax."
