Moorefield 1-14
Sarsfields 1-6

Moorefield powered to back-to-back Kildare SFC titles after easing past the challenge of Newbridge rivals Sarsfields in a disappointing replay at a wet and blustery St. Conleth's Park.

Winning manager Luke Dempsey deferred a planned trip to New York until tomorrow to guide the holders to an eight-point victory that could not have been predicted after Robbie Confrey netted for Sarsfields after just 90 seconds. But with the bearded Ronan Sweeney and Kevin Murnaghan immense at midfield, Moorefield recovered well to lead by 1-7 to 1-2 at the interval.

Ciaran Kelly scored their goal in the 15th minute, while Murnaghan, Eddie Heavey and Kelly also kicked some great scores to turn the game around before half-time.

The Sash resumed with points from Declan McKenna and Ray Cahill to leave just a goal in it, but Moorefield landed the next six points to end the game as a contest.

Sarsfields finished the game with 13 players following the dismissals of Sean Campbell (second yellow) and Gary White (straight red), while Ronan Sweeney was also sent off on a second yellow card for the winners, who had come from five points down to force a replay last week.
