St. Laurences Vs Edenderry Sat. 4th Oct
Round 4 U11 Girls Div 2 Autumn League
What a difference a day makes as both teams lined out in glorious sunshine at Oldgrange for this Round 4 of the U11 Girls Div 2 Autumn League. Edenderry took the long journey to St Laurences and to their credit arrived with 19 players for this U11 girls match.
St. Laurences were quick to settle into this game and kept the pressure on the Edenderry goals, with Miah Ryan, Dearbhla Slattery and Rachel Corcoran in excellent scoring form it was going to be hard for the Edenderry backs to mark them. Some good hand passing moves from Edenderry were rewarded when the broke down the Larries defence to score some neat points.
The Larries midfield with Olwyn Glynn and Katie Dooley always looked dangerous going forward and with Sara Moody, Kate Doyle, and Grace Gibbons solid in the backs the Larries girls got on top.
Edenderry responded again and used their subs well to keep the pressure on the St. Laurences team, and the game flowed up and down the pitch. On this note credit is due to the referee Elaine Marron who enforced the rules equally and everyone enjoyed this entertaining U11 girls game.
Thanks to Niall Comerford trainer of Edenderry firstly for travelling the long distance to Oldgrange but also for the way his girls behaved on and off the pitch, a credit to Edenderry GAA
