Championship Progress
After a league campaign in which the senior team put in several good performances which were not reflected with points on the board, the lads are now undefeated in their last four championship outings.  The replay of the quarter final against Milltown was played in Naas on Wednesday night and it was another tense affair, with a Colum Fagan goal separating the sides after 60 minutes and what felt like the longest of injury times.   The lads are playing with confidence and cohesion; their biggest test of the year awaits in the next round when we play our neighbours Straffan in the semi-final in Clane next Saturday (3pm).  Straffan are being talked about as a team that could go all the way to all-Ireland glory this year in the same fashion as Two Mile House, and will be raging hot favourites for this tie.  The lads are looking for a big support on the day for their biggest game for several seasons.
Club Cycle
The Rathcoffey GAA annual cycle, scheduled for Sunday 19th October, continues to take shape.  Our road signs were printed this week and will appear around the area over the coming days while we are working with local news outlets to increase publicity.  The routes are agreed, with a 90k route to Trim or a 50k route to Kilcock, Enfield and Carbury for those looking for a challenge, and a 10k local area route for families.  The cost this year will be €25 per person for the long cycles and €10 per family for the local route.  There will be refreshments on the day with hot food coming off the barbeque when the cyclists return to the clubhouse.  This is the club's main fundraiser for the second half of the year; it promises to be a great day so please mark it in your calendars.  Watch our Facebook page and our website for further details and route options over the coming days, or contact Chris McGovern at 086 252 8295.
Minors
Well done to the minors who recorded another win on Tuesday night last, defeating Kilard (Kill / Ardclough), despite being down a few regulars.  Many of the lads turned out again the following night in the JFC quarter final.
Under 16
Our under 16's are out tonight (Friday 5th Sept) v Ballyna in the Championship with a 6.30pm throw-in.  Best of luck to Padraig and the lads.
Club Lotto
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot, worth €3,600, on Sunday 31st August.   The numbers drawn were 4, 9, 11 and 22.  The €20 winners were Trevor Weld, Colm Moriarty, Sylvia O'Reilly and Elaine Houlihan.  Sean Moriarty won the sellers prize and Brendan Weld the in-house draw.  Next week's jackpot will be worth €3,700.  You can purchase a ticket for €2 any evening at the clubhouse, or contact any committee member to pre-pay for several weeks or to set up a standing order.  The draw takes place every Sunday night after 9pm.
