Championship Progress
The senior team has struck form at the right time and recorded its third win in succession last weekend against Ballykelly at the well turned out Ballyteague grounds.  The performance was strong throughout the team, and with five subs and six minors making an appearance, it bodes well for the coming seasons.   Colum Fagan's scoring display of 2 goals and 2 points from play was the highlight of the tie, all well-made and well-taken scores.  Rathcoffey now progresses to the JFC quarter final which takes place this evening (Friday 29th Aug) in the County Grounds in Newbridge.  Best of luck to the lads.

Club Cycle
Plans are quickly progressing for the 2014 edition of the Rathcoffey Club Cycle, which will take place this year on Sunday 19th Oct.  The cycle is a very sociable event and gets bigger and better each year.  Now in its third year, the 2014 edition will cater for the increased interest in the event.  The organising committee is providing three options including a 90k cycle to Trim, returning via Carbury and Allenwood; a shorter route of just over 50k route via Kilcock, Enfield and Carbury; and a local 10k route for families.  There will be refreshments provided before the cycle and food back at the clubhouse afterwards, where the BBQ will be fired up to feed the hungry cyclists.  Watch our Facebook page and our website for further details and route options over the coming days, or contact Chris McGovern at 086 252 8295.

Minors
The Minors boast a 100% autumn record after a six point win against Sallins, despite missing a few regulars on the night.  Their next assignment is against Kilard on Tuesday next, 2nd September.

Under 16
Congratulations to our Under 16's and their mentors, who recorded a big win against Athy away from home in the quarter final of the championship last Friday night.  Well done to the lads.  They play their semi-final next Friday night against Ballyna at 6.45pm in Rathcoffey.  Please support if you can.

Juvenile Section
With school now back into gear, the Juvenile section is back into action for the Autumn season.  If you would like to get your child involved, please call up to the clubhouse after 6pm on a Tuesday evening to speak with a mentor.  The club welcomes all newcomers of any ability to get involved.

Club Lotto
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot on Sunday 24th August.   The numbers drawn were 7, 12, 14 and 24.  The €20 winners were Méabh McCrystal, Mary Ganly, Samuel Sheils and Jim Ennis.  Willie Mullally won the sellers prize and Eddie Tyrrell the in-house draw.  You can purchase a ticket for €2 any evening at the clubhouse, or contact any committee member to pre-pay for several weeks or to set up a standing order.  The draw takes place every Sunday night after 9pm.

Strictly Come Dancing
Club Kildare is hosting a Strictly Come Dancing event on Sunday 26th October (bank holiday weekend).  All clubs have been asked to nominate two dancers to represent the club in the event.  We are looking for two individuals, or a couple, to represent Rathcoffey GAA Club.  It's a great opportunity to improve your footwork skills and represent the club while supporting Kildare, in a county wide fun competition.  If you are interested, please e-mail Sean at [email protected].

Rathcoffey Art and Craft Fair 2014

The annual Rathcoffey Art and Craft Fair event will take place again this year, with the date set for Sunday 12th October at 2pm.  This year the venue is changing from Rathcoffey Church to Rathcoffey GAA Hall, because of the demand from participants. Attractions on the day will include; a painting exhibition, childrens art competition, flower arrangements, jewellery, crafts, cake stall, raffles, book stall, candles, pottery, vintage tractors and cars, face painting and much more.  All new exhibitors are welcome.  For further information, please contact Brendan Travers at 086 830 1885, or Aisling Behan at 086 6089911.
If you would like to contribute to these notes for any aspect of the club's activities, please e-mail [email protected]
