Brophy: It's great to be back
August 13, 2014
Kildare footballer Paddy Brophy was delighted to get back into action for his club Celbridge after the disappointment of losing to Monaghan.
Brophy played a pivotal role as Celbridge lifted the Leinster Leader Cup for the first time in their history when defeating Athy in the final last weekend.
"It's great to be back," Brophy told the Kildare Nationalist. "Especially after the disappointment of last Saturday. It's good to get back into it as soon as you can.
"I know lads have to wait another two weeks for club championship but I find the best way to get back into things is to get straight back into it."
Brophy scored six points in the match, three from play and set up his side's goal which his brother Conor scored.
In total, there were nine members of Jason Ryan's Kildare squad in action, five from Celbridge and four from Athy.
