Kildare played Meath and Armagh twice, Beating Meath once, drawing with Armagh and losing out to both opponents again a point to Meath and 5 points to Armagh in more games.Results between Armagh and Meath Favoured Armagh with Armagh topping the group and going on to win the top prize on the day beating Mayo in the championship Final, Kildare finished 2nd and played the 2 cork sides that had come out of other groups. In the semi final the Kildare girls convincingly beat Corks 2nd team and in the Final they had a 4 point winning margin over Corks 1st team to lift the Shield Trophy. In the plate final, Meath were beating in their semi final by Dublin and in the plate final Waterford pipped Dublin at the post by a few points.Over all a great day for the girls, a great day for the county and a great day for ladies football in general.
