Minors take confidence from others

July 30, 2014
Kildare minor selector Brian Lacey feels that they are going into the All-Ireland MFC quarterfinal in the right state of mind.

Having lost the Leinster final to Dublin earlier this month, Kildare must regroup and gather themselves ahead of the quarterfinal against Kerry this weekend.

However, Lacey points to recent records in the minor quarterfinals and the fact that provincial winners haven't had the best of luck in the last eight.

Speaking to the Kildare Nationalist he said: "If you look at the last few years, a lot of the provincial winners fell at the next hurdle like we did last year.

"It's easier to get yourself up after losing a Leinster final at minor because there is nothing to celebrate. We'll take confidence from the likes of Tyrone last year who last an Ulster title, but went on to play in an All-Ireland final."
