Robert Emmetts played at home against Cappagh on Saturday evening in brilliant sunshine. Scores for both teams were hard to come by with great displays of defending from each team.Emmetts fought hard but kicked a lot of wides and only managed to register a single point in the 1st half while the Cappagh girls took their chances and had 5pts on the board at half time.
The second half saw Emmetts get a goal from a well worked move up the field and a lovely finish by Angela Kenny. However a sin bin for an Emmetts girl gave Cappagh the advantage and they scored a goal from the resulting penalty.This was followed by a another goal a few minutes later which pretty much tied the game up in Cappaghs favour. Emmets tagged on another point but it was too late on this occasion with the Cappagh girls going home with the points in the bag.
Final score Cappagh 2.05 Robert Emmetts 1.02. Aoife and Sarah Mulligan along with Sinead Gormley played well for Cappagh while Angela Kenny Tara O Neill and Aish Keane had a good game for Robert Emmetts.
