Castledermot ladies made it two wins from two tonight in the junior championship with a narrow win over Cappagh. Castledermot settled early and scored 4 quick points from Michaela Nolan (0-2) and Nessa Dooley (0-2). Debbie Greene Fingleton pulled off some great saves early on in the game to deny Cappagh numerous goal chances. Kim Kirwan added two points for Castledermot before Michaela Nolan put the girls one point up at the half time break.

Half time score: Cappagh 1-5 Castledermot 1-6

Roisin Kelly opened the second half scoring with a well taken goal. The second half produced some nervy minutes with the teams equalising on several occasions with some great football played by both sides. Nessa Dooley scored a cracker of a goal to edge Castledermot in front.Cappagh were awarded a penalty late on in the game to equalise. Castledermot weren't gona be caught short against Cappagh again this year and a Michaela Nolan point secured a one point victory for the away team.

Final score: Cappagh 2-14 Castledermot 3-12

Best for Castledermot were Debbie Greene Fingleton in the goals who made many saves to deny Cappagh's efforts and her kick outs set up numerous Castledermot attacks resulting in great scores, Alesi Horan and Roisin Horan, Laura Byrne and Audrey Murphy worked tirelessly in midfield with great performances from the half forward line of Emma Kirwan, Michaela Nolan and Nessa Dooley.

Scores came from: Michaela Nolan 1-5, Nessa Dooley 1-2, Roisin Kelly 1-1, Kim Kirwan 0-2, Emma Kirwan 0-1 and Shauna Doyle 0-1.

Next up for the ladies is a home game against Milltown.
